Halloween is coming!
That is really cool! Is it two color acrylic or painted wood?
It’s black spray paint on pine. There three depths of cut. My table is not quite flat and I can see it in the left side claw. The totals size is 13x11 and the pine is two boards biscuited together. I should have run it through the thickness sander before engraving. The bit was a really beat up carbide V router bit. I need to replace it. It still cuts pine well but it is leaving lots of tear out in oak.
The outside edge was made with a stationary belt sander.
The artwork was from a beer logo from when I was a brewer.
Yeah this is a cool project! I notice you raised your R7 with more Linear Rails. The first time I drove the Z axis into the spoiler board I thought of doing the same thing! lol. Could you please post some pics of how you mounted them together and to the spoiler board?
@Nukpruf Right now they are insufficiently attached. I have a plan to make it better but I have been busy using it lately. I will remind you that the z-axis stiffness is the limiting factor and trying to run aluminum at full Z is not very useful. I will build a riser plate specifically for thin materials. It will just be a 2’ x 2’ torsion box about 3.5” thick. I have some parts that are 5.5” thick and I need to cut on the top so I needed more clearance without going to full Z.
