Am I right to think that I should avoid wi-fi connection?

I think WiFi is generally OK, but the problem has been that the WiFi USB adapters tend to draw too much power for the board to handle. @jlauer will correct me if I got that wrong, but that is what I recall.

Make sure you’re using a 1 amp usb power adapter. Otherwise your Pi can freeze up.

I usually get 2A supplies for all the Pis

Hallo we have set up the wirings and chilipeppr can see the RPI and its JSON server but it keeps on offline.
There are 2 serial ports : USB2.0-Serial (ttyUSB0) and ttyAMA0, the first one is the one appearing when I connect the Arduino so that one must be the good one.
Anyway Chilipeppr keeps saying it s offline. Any idea?
