Has anyone bought this Kapton tape from this supplier? http://www.mbot3d.com/products/kapton-superwide-tape-width-120mm-length-33m-x-5
Is $88.00 for 5 rolls a good price or can you recommend a better deal when buying in bulk? Thanks for any help!

You can usually get stuff like that from the Chinese eBay sellers for less. 100mm/33m rolls start at about 13$ each with free shipping, as usual.
Thanks Thomas! Any suggestions which seller on eBay is trustworthy for this? I’ve been burnt a lot on eBay that’s why I don’t buy anything there anymore… Thanks!
I’ve personally had many good experiences on ebay, often getting stuff for way less than i had planned - just make sure you pay with Paypal and (especially the Chinese) sellers will refund you if just complain loudly enough.
I can’t really recommend specific sellers as there are quite some that run ten or more ebay accounts. Look for a decent seller rating, though.
Just look for a 99.8+% seller rating with a high number of auctions imho. I’ve been ordering things left/right off ebay lately from the slow-boat. Takes about a month or more to reach me, but when it finally does, I don’t know what it is, so it’s like christmas!
I wish they and other sellers would tell you how thick the Kapton is. I’d rather trade off roll length to get thicker stuff that wouldn’t tear as easily. The thicker stuff is easier to lay down without bubbles, too.
Joseph, have you ever bought the thicker Kapton tape, and if yes can you recommend where online you got it? Thanks
I bought a second-hand machine that had the extra-thick kapton sheet - which has been practically indestructible.- not exactly what thickness, but my guess is it’s 5 mils, like this one: http://www.mcmaster.com/#2271k73/=oh8eqy
Where I would have torn through the thin tapes, the thicker stuff just “dents”. I’ve scuffed it up over time so that it’s no longer glassy smooth, but it still works great.
According to this site one piece of this Kapton tape 12X12" costs $33 dollars?
Yeah, the thick stuff is not cheap.
