Has anyone had any success with the Dglass3D all-metal hotend?

Has anyone had any success with the Dglass3D all-metal hotend? (the 1.75mm bowden one)

I’m in the process of designing a 3D printer and was wondering whether to use the D3D or maybe wait for the Pico Hotend, or just go with the E3D hotend.

Well, if we all keep pointing people to E3Ds, we’ll never know if anyone has one upped them. I say if you’ve got the money to spare on a possible dud, go for it! And make sure you let us all know your experiences. If your experiences turn out bad, you’ve got a pretty reliable fallback plan in the E3D.

I thought about doing an E3D vs hexagon vs pico shootout, but it won’t be for another month or so.

I want a hotend that is easier to clean and disassemble than the e3d. Didn’t someone advertise something like that a few months back?

Might be worth holding out for the E3d V6 if you can. I’m very happy with the beta version I’m using.

@Ashley_Webster Yeah, well. I can’t say much but I think it’s safe to say I like it

I’m not drinking the e3d koolaid. I have 3. They have real problems when they do jam it can be really difficult to disassemble them, and they have to be re-tapped and died each time.

@Matt_Kraemer I’ve never had to disassemble my E3D in the 4 months I’ve had it. Printing averages 6 hours a day with PLA, ABS and Nylon. What is causing your jams ?

@Tim_Rastall , I’ve seen the E3D v6, looks SO nice…was asked to be a beta tester for it, but don’t have the time right now.

@William_Frick a customer had a jam in PLA after doing something silly. It took me 3.5 hrs to fix.

@Matt_Kraemer I assume you heat them to pla gt before attempting disassembly? I’ve had to do this with clogged nozzles but never due to jams.

@Tim_Rastall I had to heat it to pla temp with the fan off to remove the ss throat. Not easy when the heater cartridge wires can’t spin. In the end I had to heat it with an external air rework station.
