Has anyone played around with a Philips Hue?
I recently received a set as a gift, and I’m completely underwhelmed.
-I found them to be laggy, unreliable, and quite dim.
-The green half of the spectrum is really weak. Lime green is as green as it gets.
-Yellow looks greenish.
-Teal looks like 10,000k white.
Maybe I’m just spoiled with all of my own WS2812b goodness?
The problem appears to be the LEDs themselves. The use a lime green instead of green, and an orange / red instead of red.

Never heard of them until you mentioned it. You mean you can DIY something better than comes in a box? I’m shocked I tell you
Phillips Hue is the mood lighting that people will buy because:
It is sold in stores
It works via a cellphone app
The price is high enough that ownership is a status symbol
Marketing geniuses that understand the value
Often times people don’t like as saturated colors for in home use (kind of intense on eyes like an ad) so it makes sense from a marketing perspective to go with the lime green LEDs.
