Has anyone printed with Laywood?, i tried to print something last night and failed!. 0.5 nozzle@210c, 30c bed, with painters tape, 0.35 layer@15mm/s, first layers go ok and then it starts to fail extruding. The hobbed bolt is clean, and the whole extruder works fine with abs.

Im using an arcol v4. Maybe i need to cool the ss isolator, like with PLA?

It’s definitely more PLA-like than ABS. I’m not personally familiar with the arcol, but if mods are expected for PLA you’ll definitely need the same mods for LAYWOO-D3.

Thanks Andrew, im printing a spool now, after that i will print a fan holder and give it a try with fan cooling!, will report back

I used the fan, printed OK. Be aware that after you swap back to other plastic, bits of wood seem to keep coming out for ages.

I’m gathering printing recipes for different filaments/printers for a new community - if you don’t mind sharing anything successful then could I possibly ask the following please.

Machine -?
Adaptions/Mods - ?
Filament type - Laywood
Filament manufacturer - ?
Printing settings - ?
Environmental factors - ?
Adhesion to bed - ?

Thanks
