Those from aliexpress might not made of high quality aluminum alloy like 6061T.

@John_Cutburth_II I know what you mean. They have a build similar to the Eustathios printer for $285 shipped DHL now. Little smaller, and no heated bed. But heck, my misumi lead screws cost almost that much.

@John_Cutburth_II for sure is interesting chief. Little store I have gets solicited often for the same products we carry but in China form. I have found the perfect deterrent. “Yes I know the product and the maker. Can you please refer me to your open source products and webpages?”.

I won’t say they don’t have their place. With lowered manufacturing cost and low import duties they do great at making stepper motors, and small electronics. Unfortunately in today’s market an open source builder has to watch his files close as a hawk, otherwise, you’ll find your hard work on aliexpress with every possible corner cut.
I’d say it’s definitely a gamble, and most often than not, you do get what you paid for.
@Brandon_Satterfield is a good friend of mine because of how well he treated me as a customer. He’s also an active member of the community, not just some guy selling stuff off of his computer, he’s making stuff with us too.
Out of my experince dealing with chinese sellers it is either they get me good goods as they advertise or they get a CC dispute. Easy and simple. No obligation to contribute to anyone as designing those plates is not a rocket science, additionally they were deliberatelly open sourced so as many people could make those to use with V slotted extrusions which are sold by select vendors as possible. So by driving the plate prices down those guys help sell V slots. I would buy those for sure, hack you can even chat with a seller and propose a review for a discount.
Or you can get them from me - laser cut, 5052 structural aluminum, no complaints from anyone. ~86usd a set

@Artem_Nikitin I could, but opt not to. I prefer to keep it to the custom plates which openbuildspartstore doesn’t offer. That way people continue to support openbuilds @Mark_Carew_OpenBuild with the already cost effective plates they offer. Plus everybody has to stop in their shop for v slot wheels and extrusion anyway!

oops mine are the slightly different “FL3D OX CNC Plates”, that other set available from your pal Ali. Good design, ok quality cuts, no wheel spacers included but the term “swarfshield” made me chuckle and the extra plates are pretty cool. The listing said DHL and I was sceptical but package arrived in 5 days! $140 on sale if I recall. I couldn’t find them for sale anywhere on the FL3D site (or elsewhere) but the design files are available here:
