Has anyone tried making a filament thinner before?

Has anyone tried making a filament thinner before? I was thinking it may be useful to pull ABS through a heated hole when you know the filament is not of a reliable diameter. This could either be done in the filament making process or just before where the motor pulls the filament…or perhaps even closer to the spool.

You may end up breaking the filament during the retract steps. Also im it will warm and stretch the filament during the print

Btw that is an opinion, feel free to try, but I think it will be a mess.

I’ve tried that with some of my early extruded filament, but couldn’t really get it to work for me.
You’re going go at least need a conical reamer (which are expensive) to make a suitable hole, and if you want to keep the block cold enough to not have your filament come out gooey (and stretch), it will take a lot of force to pull it through.
