Has anyone tried printing Ceramics with DIY kits? if so, how did you make the filament to insert in the printer? and which material did you use to make the ceramic filament?
Isuspect.clay itried to insert all kinds of metals in clay models my sister was cooking, baking, watever, they all shattered?
For ceramic type printing, I believe one should use a clay slurry and replace the standard filament extruder with a syringe extruder. There are two commercial versions on the market now, one specifically designed for Printrbot

and the other a more generic one which requires a bit more tuning to get to work properly

There’s a whole ceramic printer Google group - unfortunately the crap iOS interface makes it impossible to link back…

Hey guys, thanks for the feedback but i came across the same pages on the net. I am trying to make a ceramic filament which one can easily make and 3D print it, just like spools for plastic. Has anyone tried it?
FDM works with thermoplastics - not sure how you would translate that to a ceramic material, hence the use of paste based extruders.
Ceramicsgo thru a hell of a lot of heat.
