Has anyone tried removing one of the v wheels from z carriage and moving

Has anyone tried removing one of the v wheels from z carriage and moving to adjustable one to the middle hole as in the photos I attached? Any reason why this is bad idea, I think it shood help with over constraint issues on z carriage

What over constraint issues? The issue for me was more flex on the z. I have 6 wheels (one on every hole) and no issues.

Ditto (I have 6 sets of v-wheels also) And with one set in the middle you may get unwanted side to side motion.

Okay fair enough… I’ve added two more now haha

The over constraint issue I had was that with 4 I couldnt get the same pressure on all of them. There would always be one that was spinning freely(ish) and I’ve I tightened that one it would cause the whole z axis to stiffen up so the stepper would jam
