Has anyone used “compact ball bearings”, e.g. KH0824 and KH1228 ?
I’m interested in these due to the weight savings.
I just received a bunch of KH1228 and they seem great to me, not very expensive either (from aliexpress), but I can’t really find anyone using them.
Much lighter than comparable LMU bearings…

What is the weight difference? This is the first time I have seen these. Thanks
They’re a bit less stiff under load, but probably not enough to make a difference in a 3d printer.
Yeah I’ve been using sintered bronze bushings (both thin and thick-walled) and I’m generally happy. By heating them up with a heat gun before pressing them into their mounts, they tend to align fairly well.
The only problem is the tolerances/fit on my rods, one batch was really good but the last two have been quite loose.
