Have you guys seen the change log on the new simplify 3D? Its like they actually looked at slic3r and said “yea I guess that stuff people have been complaining about are legitimate” and put it all in. Holy crap mm/s!
they implemented nearly everything that I have asked for. The Variable density support is awesome.
There are supposedly some patents related to specific infill patterns that they’re avoiding. But I agree - I really miss hexagonal infill.Though the grid infill is functional, hexagons are structurally stronger / more efficient, and look cooler, too.
But I really have to give them credit for this last update - it was a huge list of important enhancements.
The only thing I want is the ability to control speed on Raft. Add that and Im happy
Now, if they’d just put out a decent manual!
@Joe_Spanier was loading a 26 hour print last night and it stated the update was available, downloaded and continued on. Didn’t even note what they changed. Now I’m pretty stoked, going to have to look through the change log to see if they got my requested changes.
