Will try it out tomorrow. My problem is that the bed will always be 90c to start… If it cools to 60 wouldnt the first layer pop up?
I “hacked” my printer btw… Its supposed to ise the company’s cartridge and thats where it gets its initial temps. Thats why it always heats the bed to 90
If you were printing ABS, cooling past about 80c would make it pop loose, but PLA should stick decently all the way down to 50c (or below, with the right bed surface) so cooling down after the first layer shouldn’t change anything.
Ok. Ill set the temp down a little and see where it takes me.
I use purple glue stick on naked glass at 60c, and it works wonderfully. Perhaps your calibration is off ?
Calibration is ok… At least the cheesy system says it is
I have used green frog tape for pla, with 60deg bed temp. Could you not just disconnect the bed heater while printing pla?
Idea: Replace your electronic controls with RAMPs and quit fussing with manually hand coding your gcode.
Also hairspray on glass works equally well for me. Abs and pla. 60 for pla, 100 abs. The chemicals in the spray definitely are key. Finesse extra hold works well for me.
@Stephen_Hall the bed has a sensor and if it comes unplugged it eill show an error and stop the print
@Nathan_Ryan there is a hacked firmware for my printer to use gcode… But for me thats a little too much to mess with right now
