Having trouble selecting a file using either ASTRO file manager - EACCES (permission Denied) or Google Drive where it won’t let me select the .gcode files I have uploaded. This is on a Nexus 7 (2012) that has just been upgraded to 4.4 - any ideas?
Use ES File Explorer, had the same issue on my Nexus 5

which GCodeSimulator version do you use ? Google drive should work with >=v1.36
Running latest beta 1.38 and unable to select .gcode files in Drive
I was able to reproduce the problem with ASTRO file manager on Android 4.4 (emulator) . An additional permission (READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE) is required to make it work. I will add it in the next release.
I also tried Google Drive and it worked without problems.
Not too worried about Google Drive - I intend to be running this ‘off-grid’ with no Internet connectivity. Does the app expect a particular filetype/extension - or should you be able to select any file within Google Drive?
No, it does not require a special extension. I can even choose pdf files (which obviously fails due to parsing errors)
