Having trouble with the small gears. 0.2mm layers I think is the best (blue/green), but I think retract causing problems. too little causes strings (0.5-0.7mm, green) and too much causes blobs (0.8-2mm, not shown).
I know my hot end is fairly rubbish (J-head knock-off, 0.5mm) but its the only one I have that works atm…
Okay, after not managing to get slic3r to print these well I tried Kisslicer, I must say, I’m impressed. After the initial bit of it not printing anything but tiny blobs in the corner of my bed I managed to print a great set of gears.
