I kinda hate to do the work on this not knowing if it’s going to work but at the same time that’s how a lot of projects go and I must not fear failure.

What size of smooth rods are you using? Are you afraid of them sagging on the long runs?

What is your build envelope going to be? Looks huge!

8mm o2 tool steel. X should be a tad over 2 feet. Y is 1 and a half feet and z will be about 2 feet.

Yea just a bit worried about the flexibility on the Y. I’m going to try to build the lightest build plate I can add the printed parts never weight much and will actually help make it a bit more ridged.

What imay end up needing to do is adding a center support for the tool steel rods.

That’s huge. Good luck my friend, worst case, you need to replace the rods, but you’ll still have learned the actual limits of the 8mm

Looks like your rods are too small/thin your gonna get warping.
