heated bed issue? B:59.9 /60.0 @255

This series of messages started appearing when I try to use smoothieware. It looks like an auto pid tune, maybe? I did one earlier tonight but it completed OK. Resetting sometimes clears it but then at some point the printer will start spitting it out again for a loooong time. I also tuned the hotend which finished OK and I don’t get any messages from it. The tuning is pretty crappy though, but that’s another issue. Thanks!

What are you using to connect to the board ? This sounds like something is asking the bed to heat.

Do you have an on_boot.gcode file on the SD card ?

I use Pronterface to do the initial setup and then disconnect the serial. Then I use Cura to print by USB (serial).

It seems that Cura is a little quirky about temperature setting. Sometimes I’ll have it heated to temp in Pronterface, but when Cura connects it resets the setpoints to 0. By the time I notice, the hotend has cooled off and I have to go into the LCD control panel and manually set the temp. I have it set to 200 in the Cura print settings.

Thanks!

I don’t understand why you’d need to set things manually ? Cura sets temperature before starting prints, that should be sufficent, shouldn’t it ?

It doesn’t seem to. Or else it waits a while and the bed and hotend cool off and then it takes a while to heat them back up.

Can you look at the beginning of your gcode files ?
