Hello 3D printers community! Here is my first calibration attempt with my reinforced Prusa

Hello 3D printers community!
Here is my first calibration attempt with my reinforced Prusa i3 Maxi. PLA, 0.2mm layers, 200°C / 60°C.
What do you think?
Too hot?
Too much extrusion?
Wrong retraction settings?
Otherwise general quality looks good, ans dimension are respected, 2x2x1 cm with 1cm hole.
Tanks!

You’ll definitely want to calibrate your extruder steps / mm because that will remove one of those questions. Retraction might be an issue later, but I’d honestly vote too hot.

Have you calibrated your extruder and temp for your filament?

Do you have a cooling fan for your print? It’ll keep things looking a lot sharper than without one

Many thanks for your replies.
I have calibrated the extrusion distance but I know that it’s not 0.1 mm precise so I can play on that. I don’t have a fan for cooling the whole printed piece. Si I’ll try with 5 or 10 degrees less. Thank you for the advices!

@Fabien_Moret you don’t really want to cool the entire piece, just a part of the hot end or the nozzle.

@Justin_Nesselrotte Oh ok! I have an e3d v6 with à small fan on it

@Keith_Applegarth how do you calibrate the temp?

Can’t beat Tom’s guides…

I would recommend some more mm of retraction to make the layer changes better. In Slic3r, the retraction settings are under the printer tab.

The fan on the E3Dv6 is for cooling the heatsink - a part fan is a separate fan that blows just past the end of the nozzle to cool the freshly extruded plastic.

The artifacts on the corner may be print speed related

Ok there is a lot of things to look at. I will begin with temp calibration as I had simply left slic3r’s default. I was also thinking of overheating because the slices are not plane, they are bending a little bit in the corners.

@Fabien_Moret Fix the extruder calibration and temps first, otherwise the rest won’t matter.

Hello…I’m using simplifi3d software for slicing and it works well on my printing. You can check my instagram account @i3d_id
