Are you modifying existing jaws or making new ones?
Do you know if there are any standards for the sizes?
(I need to make myself some special purpose jaws.)

Yes they are just hard enough a hand file starts slipping on them, I have cut them with HSS in the lathe before so they are sorta hard but can still be cut. I am going to make a ring tool with 3 dowels that goes into the the end of the jaws to give me something to clamp against, that way I can run a boring bar through the middle of the jaws and true them up to the machine center line.

I am modifying the originals, I am not sure if you can find standards for them. Anything is possible. It’s just a cheap import chuck and I am trying to get it to be semi repeatable.
