Hello all.
Have a taz 6. I’m trying to print a fan duct for another printer, 3ku delta. Instructions say print using vase mode, no supports. It needs to be a hollow structure.
Lulzbot Cura edition
Polylite PLA
Nozzle temp 205c
Bed temp 60c
Spiralize
1st print, base printed fine but then failed going up.
2nd print, changed temp nozzle temp to 195c, 95% flow. Base fine, then failed going up, lost bed adhesion.
3rd print, used brim to keep attached to bed. But it again failed going up
Any ideas, would be appreciated greatly, thanks in advance.
Thanks for the response. 3 separate failures. I’m using the lulzbot Cura profile for polylite PLA.
I’ll check if full fan speed is on. If not I’ll try full fan speed at height it’s failing at, also try slower print speed, thanks.
Should I go back to normal nozzle temp of 205c also?
Looks like inadequate cooling. I would print two at once and see if that fixes the issue.
Thanks I’ll try those ideas, called lulzbot tech support b4, said try lowering z offset and 20% infill???
So I came here for advice…
try crankin up the extrusionwidth, higher extrusionwidth on first layer gives you much better adheasion
I would highly recommend that you print your fan duct out of ABS or at least PETG; the low glass transition temperature of PLA might cause your duct to deform when exposed to the constant heat of the nozzle
I have neither abs or petg.
Only PLA or ngen on hand at the moment.
I have alloy 910 and tglase coming by friday, though. Need to order some abs.
I agree the Z height might be bad, or flow rate is bad. Look at how the lines of the brim don’t even touch each other. Besides, if you need such a large brim, it’s time to check everything else. Is this a new machine? If you’ve used it for a while, the bed surface might need a rejuvenation.
