Hello can someone explain to me what is the added value to use 3d

Hello

can someone explain to me what is the added value to use 3d printer with laser cutting?
I know laser cutting was only for cutting profiles… not 3d objects…
or I’m wrong?

thanks

Lasercutters are immensely useful! Wanna make SMT boards? You can use a laser cutter to make the etching mask, or maybe to just do the etching. Or make a solder mask. Need to paint a pattern on something? Lasercut a template! Want a die-cut business card but don’t want to order hundreds or thousands? Lasercut! The bigger the print bed, the more useful. Same for power levels.

You can also make objects, like furniture. Check https://www.ponoko.com/
I believe they have some special features for laser cut objects.
I only found this about furniture but I’ve seen chairs and stuff like this.

@Norbert_Rovira Lasercut furniture is cool, but not really practical from a bed the size of a 3D printer.

Sure, just wanted to put some examples of big objects. We sort of see only laser cut printer frames everywhere.
With a small bed there is only size limitation but the same creativity potential.
i.e. scale a chair model and you can make a nice phone stand on wood.
