Hello everyone!

I’m having a problem with my REPLICATOR Z18. The stepper motor that attaches the smart extruder is not working very well, any suggestions?

have you tried contacting makerbot support ?

yes, i’m waiting for their answer… :frowning:

It seems the connector cable from Stepper and electronic is not well connected. That sound happens when one wire is not well connected. I think

Next time buy 3d printer so you can build and learn from him is more cheap I told this for my experience

  1. Sign the petition https://www.change.org/p/makerbot-industries-product-recall-makerbot-5th-generation-3d-printer
  2. Return or sell your Z18.
  3. Buy an Ultimaker 2 Extended or another open-source printer.
  4. Live happily ever after (or something like that).

It sounds like something loose inside (maybe the drive gear) is touching with another part. What about opening it and having a look inside?
