Hello fellow makers and 3D printer enthusiasts !!
I was so lucky that I got the chance to have a presentation about 3D printing in my class.

so, what are the things I should talk about?! I would love input from you all! thanks

P.S. I have a printer, so maybe anyone have a model I must print and bring to class?!?!

It might be worth starting out saying that the term 3D printing may eventually give way to additive manufacturing.

@Matt_Hale Why? That would bore the pants off his audience…
Focus on the actual interesting bits of 3D Printing, engage your audience and try to get them using their imagination. Don’t idealise or try to sell it but be honest about the limitations while focusing in what it can do and why this is so great! If you have cool stuff to get pass around or freebies to give out, even better!

I’ve seen little maker coins on thingiverse, small quick prints that might be quick enough to make a bunch. Oddly enough, people will take my calibration cubes as souvenirs

I have a stash of failed prints that I usually bring to things like that, so I can break open and show the infill and perimeters. It’s usually easier than trying to have everyone crowd up to the desk to see what’s going on.

+Eric Moy that reminds me of a plumber that saw me using my printer and asked if he could take one of mine from the bin

The moai of Easter Island is something every Norwegian can recognise, so it is a nice print to show http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:149271

Print a gun and shoot them all. Engaging enough for you? Liam seems to know your audience pretty well. Take his advice.

thanks everyone! this helped a lot
