hello guys,
i would like to know would this board work with Mach 3?

ok thanks @Peter_Fouche1
This one does:
23eur on eBay.
@Marcus_Wolschon I have seen these they cost about 80$+ shipping from china. but what about arduino GRBL shield.
I have no experience with the GRBL shield.
I expect them to work with EMC2 but they may or may not have a MACH3 plugin.
@Marcus_Wolschon I haven’t tried it yet on linux, (the arduino I mean) but everything I did had instructions for linux as well. Not sure if that included EMC2 though…
lots and lots of sotware. will have to start with arduino GRBL.
@Mat_Helm The Posting is asking specifically for MACH3.
@Marcus_Wolschon Isn’t GRBL arduino’s Mach3 equivalent? Or is “GRBL” some generic CNC term? Plus @Bijil_Baji and I have had another conversation going in another community on the same subject…
It seems to be a g-code interpreter itself.
So it does half the job of MACH3 except for the graphical interface and input devices. So it will likely not be compatible.
@Marcus_Wolschon You’re right, confussing myself here. GRBL is the C++ program (OS if you will) that you load onto the arduino board. I was thinking of the Universal Gcode Sendder, which is a GUI that you use on the PC to send the code to the arduino.
and the newer (I think) version from zapmaker…

screen shot
@Mat_Helm Arduino is based on Embeded C programing not C++.
@Bijil_Baji No, I believe it’s is C++, but GRBL is actually Java, which is a slightly modified C++,annnd lol, C++ is really nothing more than a stream lined version of C…
hmm. @Mat_Helm anyways i am going to order GRBL shield PCB from china the pcb coast about 1$ if i buy 100 pieces with free shipping i have some good suppliers in china and rest of the PCB i will try to sell them on ebay.
Cool, but you know you really don’t need the shield. It just makes it easier I think. Check out @Daniel_Would setup…
And the guy I bought mine from is doing that too I think. He’s here in the US and is about $6.50 higher than the NZ guys. Plus I know he assembles them too (as mine arrived without the capacitors)…
yea i know about that but i have lots of pulooo drives from my ebay store that i can sell and instead of header pins if i attach some terminal connectors i can sell some cheap USB based CNC breakout board.
@Bijil_Baji Cool, nothing like making a buck while playing… What’s the name of your ebay store?
@Mat_Helm @Bijil_Baji I use spark fun easy drivers instead of a grbl shield. Though obviously those are limited in the power they can drive to something like 750mA. Not sure what the cost comparison is like. I’d guess the grbl shield is actually cheaper. I’m not sure I’d use my setup as a recommended approach… It’s a voyage of discovery for me.
@Mat_Helm 13iGCNCPrinter. http://www.ebay.in/usr/13igcncprinters?_trksid=p2047675.l2559
items are be included.
@Daniel_Would If i am maken arduino+grbl shield+puloolu drivers it would cost me about 20$ max.
@Daniel_Would I finally wired up all 3 motors to the GRBL last night. And I can tell you that without heat sinks and a fan, they get super hot within a few seconds. I mean almost solder melting hot. So won’t be playing with them until I cut up some old heat sinks and add a fan.
Nothing wrong with your setup. I just think that you, like myself, tend to do things the hard way in search of a better way… Can you tell that was a reference to your smart phone hexapod?.. ;p
