Hello guys this is me Noah where I finished my 3D printer and busted

@Francis_Lee Thanks!!! What happened to your printer?

Oh I had a Printrboard clone that I left on a shelf and never tested. I was building a printer for a Maker Mini Faire and when I got around to it, it was near impossible for me to program at the time. So I went RAMPS instead.
Since then I got the Printrboard to work, but there is so much trial and error with drivers and firmware loaders.

Btw, REAL Printrboard is only $70. Clones are $90-100! If I only waited a few months I would have saved myself a lot of pain.

Anyone who tells you to stick with RAMPS is not really up to date on their printer knowledge. Most people are trying to move away from 8 bit controllers in favor of 32 bit ARM controllers such as the smoothieboard. However, there’s an awesome new controller coming out called the Re-ARM that should be available soon. It allows you to upgrade your tired old RAMPS 1.4 to Smoothieware. :slight_smile:

@ThantiK - Damn… I’ll be looking into that. The RAMPS on the FB’s are stopgap boards, so something like that would be just the ticket…

well, if I knew of a fully populated smoothieboard kit for $40, I’d definitely recommend it. :slight_smile:

Awesome!!! Good luck to you all!!!

Sainsmart 2in1 new cards have temp problems that they dont adress. I have 2x of those that is useless that i havent got money back or replacements. I whent with the MKS 1.4 with a MKS TFT28 toutch screen works good.

A GUD ONE WYD COST U NOTHING. HOW…? ASK.

@ThantiK do you have more info or a link to this re-arm?

We supply 3D printer cleaning wet wipes. (http://www.cleanwetwipes.com)

@Johan_Jakobsson thanks I don’t think it was. Thanks!!!

@Hakan_Evirgen , I’ll be posting about it more when Roy does his kickstarter for it.

Ramps Kit is the way to go. Go ahead and order more drivers. They are easy “pop”. You will need to know how many steps per revolution your motors have. There are some REALLY good tutorials on youtube describing exactly what you are trying to do. I bought my prusa i3 from Alli express, and the main board died the first week. I replaced it and never looked back. While I was at it, I replaced the stepper motors, Belts, Gears and power supply. It was worth it and I learned a lot! The guys in the IRC reprap on freenode where loads of help. Good luck to you.

@Joseph_Ronie thanks but I definitely was already on it. Quick question what is IRC because that sounds familiar? Thanks!!!

IRC is a multiplayer notepad used for chatting. You can download Hexchat. Get on a free node server. Then join the reprap room. There are very helpful people there if you have more questions.

@Joseph_Ronie thanks!!!
