Hello guys this is me Noah where I finished my 3D printer and busted

Hello guys this is me Noah where I finished my 3D printer and busted the motherboard. Long story short it is toast. Recently I have decided to make an investment in buying a new motherboard for less than 50$ and hopefully around 40$. Does anyone have any suggestions for buying and programming the motherboard? The original board was Sanguinololu. Thanks!!!

Amazon prime… get a RAMPS 1.4 (kit) for less than $40.

@Francis_Lee Thank you sir. Just one question. How do I program it for my Prusa I3 Geeetech with the MK8 extruder? Thanks!!!

Ah. Well RAMPS kit includes an Arduino Mega clone. You can use the latest Arduino programmer and load up the latest Marlin firmware. It’s pretty easy to program relatively.

@Francis_Lee Could you send me a link of the latest marlin firmware? What do i do when I get it uploaded? Thanks!!!

@Francis_Lee Thanks but I already know a ton about arduino. Arduino is my life. What i was asking was what do I do when the is uploaded? How do I calibrate it for my printer? Thanks.

@Noah_Schreiber ah ok! You mean calculating the steps/mm and the printer geometry?

@Francis_Lee Yes.

Marlin has those settings in configuration.h if you know all your settings.

I don’t know my settings. How do I calculate them.

Thanks though!!!

You can also burn them to the EPROM with m501 gcode I believe. You can calculate your steps with the RepRap calculators web pages.

Do you have a link?

I’ve really liked my Sainsmart 2-in1. Bought it because it is 24v tolerant, and easier to work with than the Arduino Mega / RAMPS combo.
Then again, like any combo item, if you blow one part, you have to replace the whole thing (except drivers, those are same as RAMPS).

Sorry I forgot to say thanks!!!

@Carlton_Dodd Thanks but I think I will go with ramps because I own 5 megas and all my friends on hangouts seems to keep saying stick with ramps. Thanks though!!!

Ha-ha I think our conversations crossed. The Marlin link is in the same post as the Arduino link. The Amazon link is after that.

And you’re welcome. I was in your situation last month!
