Hello guys, this video shows a phase of the costruction of a soundproof box for my CNC. This is for the internal panels, a sandwitch of drywall and EPE, and in the video I’ll do an empirical test of the damping effectivenes.

This is cool =)
please post final results

Sure! I also bought a sound level meter to test it.

EPE?

On the video in the description it says “expanded polyethilene (EPE) sheet”.

My question is: did you manufacture that sandwich or is it purchased this way?

Yep! “Expanded Polyethilene” … that’s right! In my area is very difficult to find the Green Glue (a damping caulk), futhermore is very expensive!!!

Uh Rob, yes I did it! I bought drywall and EPE in a contruction shop and join them with viniyl glue.

I sound proofed all my walls in my condo like that using the sound dampening board and green glue as well as another layer of blue board and plaster. Works very well.
