Hello!
Have anyone of you using proxxon mf70 with cnc conversion ?
What’s your opinion about mf70, is it worth his price, or better option will be build cnc from scratches. (my goals is: pcb, front panels, little bit of aluminium)
I investigated it but found the build volume way too small.
You mean working XYZ sizes ? You build your own or buy something else ?
I modified a CarvingCNC 6040 with new electronics and an upgradd 4th axis and a 3040 with new electronics, also an upgraded 4th axis, a case and I’m working to extend it’s portal height to allow larger diameters then 7.5cm for blanks on the 4th axis.
@Krzysztof_Foltman the electronics is * .
You need to factor a USB control card (30eur) and 3 or 4 stepper drivers (20-40eur each) plus a 48V power supply(30-50eur) into your budget.
The spindle is very quiet but not very strong and DC, not VFD-controlled (so it looses RPM under load).
Depends on the spindle you choose.
With the 250W I can not recommend it.
The 800W may work.
My larger one has a 2500W water cooled with VFD and works for Aluminium.
I don’t intend to try serveral millimeters at once.
from carving-cnc. Fast, well packaged, good service even after the sale.
Just ordered proxxon mf-70, now my problem is to choose correct stepper motors. Can anyone tell me if 0.6Nm of torq will be good ?
