Hello,

I’m having a lot of trouble getting a good first layer on my printer. It was working for a while but then I messed up the three leveling screws under the bed and now I can’t get it quite right again no matter how many times I try the trick with shoving a piece of paper under the nozzle and tightening until it bites.

Do you guys have any advice? Also, is there any place I could pay to come out and level it for me?

What printer, filament and print bed material do you have? I find PLA on glass @ 60 Celsius works very well even with a pretty uneven bed. For ABS I print on glass @ 110 Celsius and ABS juice.

I found if I use glossy magazine paper it’s easier to adjust.
When you can feel the bite but it still slides it’s perfect.
Keep going around until all 4 corners slide with a bit of drag.
Good luck.

The first line of filament should be a little bit squished by the nozzle. It shouldn’t be so squished that each lie overlaps each other, but it shouldn’t be too beady either.
