Hello im trying to calibrate my axes and i want to know the steps per mm. I send m501 but i get hardcoded default settings loaded and nothing more. I have a velleman k 8200 kit. Any ideas?
All but the extruder steps/mm are just mathematical formulas based on your motor steps and the number of teeth on your gears. I don’t have my bookmarks handy for Prusa’s calculator at the moment.
Well what i want to do is: i have printed a cube, have measured and saw the differences and now i want to find the steps per mm and make the math.(steps/mm * extrud mm/ actualy extrud mm.Will this work?
But how i can find the steps when the m501 is not working?
No, nnnnnnNNNNO! Nope.
You shouldn’t calibrate the X, Y or Z axes. They cannot be wrong because the step angle of the motor and the belt pitch are fixed. If your cube is too large or too small, it is because of over or under-extrusion of plastic. You might need to calibrate your extrusion steps, or just use an extrusion multiplier in the slicer.
Here’s @Thomas_Sanladerer 's video on E step calibration: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YUPfBJz3I6Y
Yes i have seen this video. But when i send m503 command i dont get back the steps of the extruder.so my question is how i can find them.
Do you get any output from M503? Can you paste it here?
Velleman should provide the full source including the Configuration.h, the setting is also there, can you get this from them?
