i’m trying to get a LPD8806 strip of 240 leds to work, with no luck so far. the leds do light up but do not do what they’re supposed to.
i’ve tried the firstlight.ino with fastSPI 2RC3 using FastLED.addLeds<LPD8806, RGB>(leds, NUM_LEDS); with ports 11 & 13 on the arduino uno, and all the leds light up white and then change randomly … instead of all goes to black and only one white pixel moves along the strip. I’ve also tried to set quantity of leds to 40 in firstlight.ino, but the full strip light up anyway…

i have no idea what’s wrong, so if anyone could give me tips to identify the problem, that would be very appreciated!

(i’m new to electronics and arduino, but computer code is not a problem)

This sounds like you possibly have the clock and data lines wired backwards - also, make sure that the Arduino and the led strips share a common ground.
