I want to control LED strip of 36m(30pixel/m.ws2811) by using Madmapper(vj software_artnet).

I merged Arduino uni and DMX Sheild and fixed code that vjspain made to connect OpenDmxEthernet, but failed.

I think that what I’ve done is same as vjspain’s hardware, software and Arduino set up.

I need to figure what the problem is and need your help.

There is something that I cannot understand.

As far as I know, DMX is able to use 512’s channel. So, I am wondering whether DMX can control 170 RGBpixel per 1 DMX or can control more than 170.

If I use the device in above URL, is it possible to be controlled many ports(Port x170) by madmapper or vj software?

Basically you need to use a separate DMX universe for every 170 leds.

As for what’s going wrong, sadly, without more information than “but failed”, I can’t give much in the way of recommendations for things to try. What is failing?

Try doing a smaller scale thing first (say, driving 32 leds via dmx), make sure that you can get things working there, then slowly ramp up to the full scale that you want. That whole walking before running thing :slight_smile: Seriously, though, starting simple then slowly adding pieces lets you see/identify exactly what step things start failing and how.
