Are you using a slip ring to pass power and data? And what kind of position sensor / rotation encoder is tracking the angle?

cheers! yeah got a slipring from ebay which handles i think 10A per channel *3 @ 200rpm max. ran it for ages with no glitches so appears to be decent! i think it’s intended for small wind turbines. there’s no encoder, i just set the software on my pc to rotate an image for display at the same speed as the turntable. only other step was mapping it in the first place which i did with code i wrote using a webcam to get the relative positions of any leds in a scene. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J9hUnxm39BA shows that a bit more clearly.
