Hello, Please help mi to mount that M8 nut on Z axis.

Hello,
Please help mi to mount that M8 nut on Z axis. I printed those carriages from (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:45207) and it turn out that M8 nut is moving inside the grove, making down moves risky of such slide.

How would you recommend to tighten the nut size so it would fit and not move? I tried some electrical tape - rubber one and it doesn’t squeeze into place. Any other options?

Thanks

As long as it’s not rotating that’s exactly what it’s supposed to do. is it rotating when the rod rotates?

thanks for response, it doesn’t rotate.
however when moving Z down carriage stays and nut goes down. maybe I need to put more weight on end mounts?

That means your Z linear rod is binding. Adding weight only disguises the problem. Fix the actual problem. What piece is that, also, if you don’t mind me asking. edit: just realized pla bearing surface. Go ahead and add weight and then invest in REAL bearings.

I think your problem is the printed bushings. Upgrade to some LM8UUs

thanks, I got LM8UU on other side. This PLA bushing move much more freely then LM8UU on other side.
I will monitor down Z movement - it goes down but in jumps… Since printing only cares about going up. I may stick with temporary solution of added weight.

I think I found solution - I’ll drill 2.5mm hole on side and put M3 screw that will tight M8 nut. Just like I did on some GT2 gears.

Glue?
