Help: Firmware update- killed Re-Arm

Help- looking for suggestions:

I updated my Re-ARM smoothieboard tonight to the latest version of firmware on Github. I’ve done this several times in the past without issue. I copied the new firmware.bin file to the re-arm SDCARD via USB connection to the RE-ARM board. I rebooted the printer- and nothing. Everything powers up- all the fans are on (that are supposed to be on), the LCD panel is lit up, but no text. Also, my PC no longer recognizes the RE-ARM as an external drive. I’ve tried restoring to the old firmware version via pulling the SDCARD out of the RE-ARM and directly writing to the SDCARD. I’ve also tried reformatting and recopying the firmware and config files back to the SDCARD. All to no avail. Any suggestions? I didn’t make any other changes to the machine other than the firmware update.

thanks!
Andy

What do the LEDs do ?

It’s tough to see the LED’s on the RE-ARM board as it’s covered by the RAMPS. I can see a red LED on solid somewhere near the SD card reader.

For debugging, you can just remove the ramps altogether for now. Really need to know what the LEDs are doing.

The “power” LED is red, on solid. No other LEDs are on.

I added the status LEDs, and all four are on solid- seems like this indicates a firmware crash. I’ll try formatting the SD card again and re-installing the firmware.

Well, I don’t know what the deal was, but I re-downloaded the firmware from github, and set up the SDCARD again, and now it seems to work. Perhaps the version I downloaded last time was corrupted during the download process? I left the LED status light board plugged in to help diagnose future problems. In any case, thanks for the help.
