Here is a new dremal mount I made, this is for the little Fred Myers dremal’s. I had two of them lasting around so I figured id try a mounting bracket out.

I’ll put the files up on thingiverse and youmagine here in abit.

Now to have it do something useful. What can I use to control this head?

I have an inkscape to gcode thing I modified on Thingiverse that I used to control a Cricut cutting blade and a pen. I imagine you could use the same thing for 2-d or 2.5d cutting (with multiple layers). For 3D RepG has milling profiles but I’ve never used them. CamBam might also work. It all depends on what you are trying to do and the platform you are on.

My friend pretty much suggested the same thing, cambam (make a shape) -> mach3 cam viewer (generate gcode -> use my current host software to run the gcode.

It’s currently mounted on a modified I2, I am purchasing a cnc in the next coming week and I guess I got a little impatient.

I just grabbed a ShapeOko 2. It’s now assembled but my gShield is bad. I love my 3D printer but sometimes (and for larger stuff)…it’s not the right tool for the job.

Nice do you like it? I am getting a 3020T then after that I am building the http://openbuilds.com OX cnc router.

I mainly want the smaller one for pcb manufacturing, and the bigger one for really large projects and a 4th axis.

The build was easy. But there was a shipping snafu…and I got it all together and the X-axis on the gShield driver board is bad. It’s been approximately a week going back and forth with support to see if they will ship me a new gShield. I never had issues like this with MakerBot when I purchased my printer several years ago. It seems they are short staffed if they are staffed at all. Once I can make some cuts with it I’ll give you some feedback.
