Here is a really fun project I want to share with the community. It demonstrates well the results I can get when creating a complex tight tolerance assembly using multiple printers with differently calibrated filaments and nozzle sizes.
It’s a completely 3D printed mechanism for actuating the wings on a 1:35 scale X-Wing fighter model. I have printed three of the mechanisms all with interchangeable parts.
Tolerances between the 13 parts range from 0.004" - 0.006" depending on the function. Parts were printed using 0.4 and 0.3mm nozzles.
