Here is a tutorial for text along a curved surface, using Autodesk Inventor: http://robobrrd.com/learn/wavytext/

Let me know if you have any requests for more Inventor tutorials! Been improving working with it, so want to share the knowledge.

Audodesk have such a weird collection of products. So much overlap. What is the difference between Inventor and 123D Design ?

@Shachar_Weis Inventor has more controls and features than 123D Design. It can even run FEA simulation.

If 123D Design has a text emboss tool, you might be able to do it as well (so that the text follows the curves). Of course, there’s loads of tools out there, maybe you can even do it in OpenSCAD.

123D Design has two flavors, desktop application and browser-based application. The web version has text, but the desktop version doesn’t. Confusing, yeah.
