Here’s a few photos of my recent E3D Chimera dual extruder upgrade along with my first complete dual-extruded print. It’s not perfect, but I’ll take it!

Did you only get the E3D Chimera, or did you get the Cyclops as well?

@Scott_Darrow Just the Chimera. I wanted the ability to run two different hotend temps at the same time. Unfortunately that’s not possible with the Cyclops.

@Derek_Cameron so far you like the chimera? Did you have to make some adapting parts to work for your printer? I am going to purchase one soon and need to make parts for my printer for the E3D to connect.

@Scott_Darrow So far, yeah! This was only my first completed print so I’ve still got some tweaking to do. As you can see in the photo, I’ve got a Rigidbot and I printed the “Chimera Mount V2” file by @Gary_Craig on Thingiverse: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:664341/#files

The spacers for my mount I just made up myself though. Other than that, the extruder mounts and the breakout board mount was all that I needed to print.

Also, which printer do you have?

I have a ZMorph 2.0S printer with dual extruder as well, but I am hearing good things about E3D hotends, so I might switch out to one of them and modify it to work with my printer.

What slicer do you use how to do the multi color, can you share

@Mohamed_Thalib_H I use Simplify3D. In the software you can select which .stl files you want to apply a certain printing process to. For this frog there were two .stl files. I applied the “yellow process” to one file and the “blue process” to the other.

@Scott_Darrow Does the stock dual extruder on your printer have the PTFE tubing? I’m assuming it isn’t an all-metal hotend?

@Derek_Cameron yes it does on bottom side of filament guide. Yes it is an all metal hotend.

looks really good!
