Here’s a photo from an all day FastLED 3.1 workshop I held this weekend for some local youth (Venturer aged Scouts). Each attendee received an Arduino Nano (with headers) + USB cable, an LED strip with 20 APA102’s, a AAA battery pack with batteries, some white split loom cable and a few jumper cables. We started off with my slides at:

We went through a few of the FastLED examples as well as my GitHub based FastLED demos.

Got 'em all going and the youth had a great day and ended up with some really cool portable LED strips.

Oh and Fire2012withpalette and demoreel100 were two of the more popular sequences they played around with.

Nice slide show. I’m guessing it was a great workshop!

Oh ya, it was awesome. We also had a visit from one of the members of http://www.makermobile.org.

Absolutely fantastic! Thank you for spreading the light and for sharing your slides – and so much of your time!

You just inspired me to do the same at my local HS. Thanks!
