Heh, I have the same digital calipers. They were rated very highly on Amazon and I’ve found them to be worthy of that reputation.

Ohh I need to try that linear bearing greaser

This is great Walter, you really make me want a lightbox

Also thanks for the zoro recommendation. I’ve been looking for reasonably priced knurled inserts and have had a hard time finding any

Ooh, hadn’t thought of threaded inserts. Also: Kapton tape.

You’re welcome, Zoro’s a lot harder to find what you’re looking for than McMaster, but the have much better prices on the inserts. I don’t know if all the Zoro “value brand” inserts are from E-Z Lok, but all the ones I ordered were.

@paul_wallich I haven’t actually used kapton for much with 3D printing, but I know others have. I’ll add a section for stuff other people use, I have a roll somewhere I can photograph if I can find it  That reminds me though I should add silicone tape to the list.

@Walter_Hsiao the last time I asked you suggested this box: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00GKGGICC/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=M1P03ID72IYN&coliid=I1TWR7Z5DEX6UJ&psc=1 Do you prefer the tent one more than the collapsible?

I’ve been using the one you just linked to for a long time (or one that’s pretty much identical), but never really liked it that much. As a light tent it works fine, but it’s not very stable, and the bottom surface isn’t flat. On the other hand it’s compact when folded and easier to store. I switched to the one I just linked to recently, and I like it better so far (it’s more rigid and has a bit more working space, but I pretty much leave it out and set up. In terms of the quality of the pictures I doubt I could tell the difference between the two. They also come in many different sizes, but 16-24" is probably a good size for most.

A salutory warning about using sharp scrapers to remove parts from the bed - I slipped when using one and ended up in hospital with multiple stitches! There are perfectly safe of ways of removing prints, either with hot water (very effective even with ABS juice) or by putting the glass plate in the freezer.
