Here’s an old FastLED ESP32 test strip and LiPo battery I slapped on my bike helmet in case I need to ride at night (battery is too big but lasts many hours). I wrote a bluetooth app so I can change the patterns. Just getting back to playing with fastLED and looking for others doing bike specific work like those spoke LEDs I see on the Internet.
I saw a new ESP32 board that has GPS and LoRa that could be used for tracking the bike if it’s stolen so I thought why not LEDs and other stuff too. I am planing on getting an eBike soon and it’s already got power. Anybody playing with eBike patterns like the spoke trick LEDs I see on the internet?
@Steve_Anken great job !! I would love to see your code of the Bluetooth part if possible. Thx
@Yves_BAZIN , I just hacked some BLE stuff others did back when Arduino IDE and App Invenor added BLE support. The code has lots of other junk in it that were experiments. This strip was just laying there from another experiment with a number of LED strips and motors so it is not suitable for anything but cleanup. Just getting back to this stuff so I look at the code I wrote and it’s hard for me to follow what I did, it’s that bad.
@Steve_Anken I know the feeling
@Steve_Anken I finally did the same as you. Went through couple of examples and was able to make something work.
Good work! What battery specifically did you use, and how did you wire it up? I’m encountering a similar problem I need to my ESP32/Led with a battery
