Here’s the short strip for students, back side. I partially stripped a gap in the power leads to solder the cap on, the signal resistor is heat-shrinked into the data line with a coffee stirrer for strain relief. Sorry, I couldn’t find a good way to add this to the first post. Rustoleum LeakSeal is a good, clear sealant for lit areas, and liquid tape for the more needy mechanical strain areas. Would you recommend LeakSeal over silicone sealant?
No, it makes a poor bond to the silicon jacket, and it dries down to a very thin layer, so it doesn’t make a good ‘plug’. My main objective was preventing shorts from foreign objects touching the leads.
