Hey all - I did a class with 3rd and 4th graders at Arrowhead

Hey all - I did a class with 3rd and 4th graders at Arrowhead Primary school last week, and thought I’d share the slides that I put together. Check them out! The videos in slides 6-10 are pretty cool.

I had an Afinia H479 printer and a CreoPop 3D printing pen with me, and we used those to produce a toy during the course of the class. Generally, we didn’t do the slides, mostly just jumped from video to video with me narrating. I also showed them around Solidworks briefly.

Comments welcome! Happy to share further if anyone wants to use with their local school

Excellent Slide Show. You’ve done a great job at capturing the overall capabilities without going into so much detail as to loose your audience. As one that has done similar presentations, I know the work that goes into this type of show. Again, great work.

so glad to see people interested in helping out at schools , We need to get our young minds into science , math and enjineering. My wife is president of a senior community book Club and this year contributed 110 books for middle school .

@Tom_Martz Thanks Tom! It was a lot of fun. I pretty quickly learned that the presentation was OK, but just jumping between videos and describing what’s going on was much more effective. Really blew their minds to see a toy materialize out of thin air over the course of ~15 minuts.

@JOHN_YN Agreed! I had about a dozen kids say they’d be engineers when they grow up. Hopefully, it sticks!
