Hey All,
I have been playing with some wood filament. Have you had any experience with with the FormFutura stuff or similar?

The wood stuff I played with was still flexible after I printed with it. How stiff is this compared to regular PLA when done?
@ThantiK It can be a bit flexible with very low infill but I found the pallet I printed to be very solid at 25% infill. The crate lid can be bent a bit though at 5% infill.
I’ve been printing Laywoo-D3 again the past couple of days. I still like the results; the color variation with print temperature is nice and the imperfections are reminiscent of wood grain. I like aligning the surface infill with the toolpath direction for more grain-like effects. The print-in-place articulated fishbone skeleton model looks great in wood.
Laywoo-D3 is also more flexible than regular PLA. I’ve noticed it can stiffen up a bit after a day or so. It’s weirdly a little more flexible when first printed, even when cooled.
Does the EasyWood color look more wood-like in person? In the video it looks a lot yellower than my wood prints.
@Tim_Visible Yeah, the colour saturation is a little high in the camera, it is much more subtle in real life. I am going to have to try out the fish, I have a few just not in wood.
Interesting idea about aligning the infill, I bet that can look really cool.
