Hey all, I lost another print due to my bowden tube popping out of the pushfit (e3d supplied). Is there a good alternative? Is the screw-the-tube-into-a-nut method reliable? Should I just get a new tube and be done with it?

What do you think?

v5 or v6 pushfits?

V5. Is there a big difference?

The last time I tried the tube-in-nut method, the nut was squeezing the tube a bit, so the filament had a hard time getting through. I tried to put a pin inside the tube, while screwing the nut on. It helped a bit, but not enough.

Get a new pushfit and maybe shorten the cable a bit to remove the damaged part.

I use the 4mm nut method. Trick is not to drill out the ID, but instead compress it out. Teflon has memory, so push in a ball end 2mm Allen wrench, spin it a few times to compress the Teflon open. This improves engagement with the 4mm nut threads. No failures yet and many spools of filament through the system. I used to loose the Bowden regularly with push fittings at high speeds.

Or put the smooth end of a drill bit in and thread it with a m4 die. The excess outer material will be removed so there isn’t any excess pressure to deal with.

hi! same problem here! could you point me to some photos how it should look?

I used epoxy.
