Hey all,
I’m doing a demo of my printer in my son’s class, I wanted to bring a bunch of 3D printed objects that are Math related. Anyone has a nice math-themed object to share ?

Thanks

tesseract

nautilus shell (golden ratio)

There’s a fractal Dragon I saw on thingiverse once

I did a demo for my kids’ school, grades 6-8, and you can’t go wrong with anything you print and bring.

They’ll be pretty excited. I printed over 120 martian key chains to hand out to everyone. So giving them something to take home will add to the enthusiasm. Be sure to print extras…the teachers will be glomming on to them too

I have an STL for a Menger Sponge if you want that.

Sure. Thingiverse # 192358 a hyperbolic pencil holder. a quick and easy print. Put pencil in all the holes and they create a hyperbolic form. I needed to print it almost 5 inches in diameter to get pencils to fit easily.

There is a math spinner toy on thingyverse. I made one but modified it a little the inside shaft I modified to take standard 50 mm pool pvc pipe. Here’s a link to my make http://www.thingiverse.com/make:89350 I can’t remember if I put the changed files online but if not let me know and I’ll send them to you.

Dice. Normal 6 sided and 4, 12, or what ever else you can find.

fortune teller origami? Protractor, T-square, slide rule.
CUISENARE RODS

Numbers and the letter Pi. Plus-minus, brackets.

Polyhedra play set

thanks guys !

How about a Voronoi Klein bottle.

A good analog device is 186452 on Thingiverse. It demonstrates how you can manipulate a parabolic surve without changing its shape.

How about a Szilassi polyhedron? http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:12200
