Hey all, I’m new to all of this, did some searching in the group but my path is not clear, hope you can help.
I have a cheap diode-based laser and I don’t like the bundled software. It’s an Eleksmaker board with an arduino based controller so I should be able to flash it for GRBL ( http://store.eleksmaker.com/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=156 ). Laserweb seems the way to go for software from what I’ve learned. I also have a spare Raspberry Pi 3. I’ve read that Laserweb can run from a Pi, which would be nice. I like the idea of having the Pi running on my network, and I can send files to it from any PC, and control it through a phone or tablet.
I don’t know my way around Linux. But I managed to boot up a fresh install of Raspbian and download and execute both appimage files (not sure which I needed) for Laserweb 4, but nothing happened as far as I can tell. I’m really not sure where to go next to get LaserWeb running on a Pi, or even how to hook up the laser to it (can I just use USB like a PC?).
I’ll venture to say that I don’t know what I don’t know… Can any of you point me in a direction or share some tutorial for getting LW4 running on RPi3 ? Any help is appreciated, thanks.
