Hey all. I’m thinking of moving to dual hotend for my next printer. Is anyone here sporting a double headed printer and is happy with it? My main goal is to have solvable support and/or multi material.
Is that worth the added complexity?
Is the software toolchain up to the task?
Does it make sense to have different sized nozzles, a bigger one for infill or support material?
Can’t recommend the Hydra yet as the UL-TSlot is under going an upgrade to @igus_Inc 1050 fast travel lead screw’s with anti backlash nuts. After it’s complete I’ll be adding the Hydra for testing
The kraken does. and my original UL-T-Slot carriage had a leveling system using a 2 part clamp for the hot ends and 4 springs to parallel in x and y axis.
I know the new V.6 Aluhotend has a ‘microadjust’ to let you level the two hotends. I’m hoping to use one E3D one Aluhotend side by side. But I’m about 3 months off giving an opinion about that.
@Shachar_Weis I have 2 heads, one is printing ABS, other HIPS as support. It works perfect, but print times suffer. Although now I can print almost everyrhing. Both nozzles same size. With the help of kisslicer using two nozzles is piece of cake. Works like a charm.
