Hey all, we have several 3mm PLA reels in our hackerspace that are labeled RepRapper and will constantly jam our Ultimaker. It does not snap when you bend it, you have to work hard and twist it several times before a piece will come off. I tried dehumidifying it, no change. Is it safe to assume it’s utter garbage and toss it out ?

I hope this is something that stabilized soon, $40-$55 a spool is a lot of money to pitch because the vendor can’t provide dependable product.

@Shachar_Weis , some of those crappy filaments I save and use in large-nozzle hot ends. Like 0.75+

I bet its actually Repraper (1 P) which is sad. This filament sucks as a general rule. Some work with it fine but every roll of it Ive used except for 1 (through some shipping errors I ended up with at least 6 rolls) has had one problem or another and its destroyed at least 1 hotend. I haven’t trashed all my stock yet but I should.

It’s these guys - http://www.repraper.com/

Yep, then toss the stuff.

So who IS a good supplier of filament?

UltiMachine (though a bit expensive)

I second UltiMachine.

It’s not any more expensive than I’m paying for Microcenter…not if it actually works!
